Will be going to look at a Max II tomorrow, comes with set of Argo tracks along with the axle extensions for track width clearances.Sounds like it is in great shape, however owner does not know what year it is.He says it is a twin cylinder and very fast,so I am thinking maybe an older 440 twin??How do you tell WHAT YEAR IS IT ? And where would the tag be?

Your best bet would be to call Recreatives Amphibious Six-Wheel Drive All-Terrain Vehicles: MaxATVs - Call 1-800-255-2511 with the serial number which will be on a plate that is on the inner part of the upper body......it is on your side when you sit in the machine and it is hard to miss. It could be on the dash if it is a newer machine. If it is a 440 JLO/Rockwell it is out of the 1970's. If it is a 440 Kawasaki it is out of the 1980's. Let us know what else you find out and snap some pictures if you get a chance. Good luck and I hope it is a good machine and you end up picking it up."Looks like you have a problem with your 4 wheeler........you're missin' two wheels there"

Made it home
Buffalo New york-Huh / I'm from Buffalo Minnesota.Anyway the Max is home-engine,chains,wiring harness, pretty much everything besides the tranny has been removed for cleaning or rebuilding.Motor is a Kohler 440. Looks brand new inside and out.still has original decals on recoil and on top of motor even the rubber boots around plugs have no cracks.Body is good,no holes in tub.Tranny has clean fluid in it and seems tight.Needs rear sprockets and chains both sides(rear).Tracks are the segmented type(hinged) brand new. When I got home before teardown machine would easily pop wheelies, cant wait to get-r-done.Gunnar
