  • Battery type in 96/97 Max II

Hi All...I am wondering if anyone might know the battery type/model used in this machine? The machine is at my camp so I dont have access to l actually look at it.

    Thanks for the help!

They take the little lawn mower type (that suck). Where are you located? I have 2 sitting on the floor of my garage, I'd give you one.

Hi Mike... I'm about 45 minutes south of Boston in Dighton but have a camp in Garland ME where I would ride.

The garden tractor batterie that replaces the original is a U1-L. I use the Briggs and Stratton ones at lowes. They are 300 amp and totally sealed. Have been having very good results even in the extreme cold.

I use one of these and it has been excellent .
I run my winch a lot pulling logs up a steep slope.
Mine is a PC625 with 625 cranking amps.
              Check out the specs:

              .

                WOW, I'm impressed, 625 cca out of a small battery...and only $106.
I always convert to a full sized car battery to get the extra capacity....no need with one of those.
On my first trip out with my first 6x6 (the sears sportster), I got it stuck in a ditch. I drained the tiny battery using the winch to pull it 5 feet. I decided then that the small batteries were a bad idea, and upraded.
