  • Max II Trailer Optons ?

I need some advice on trailer options ? I know the max II needs 5'-0" wide X 8'-0" long trailer minimum. Any one able to tell me what the width is with tracks ? or maybe has experienced an ideal trailer. Looking at Lowe's $630. I have a nice 4'-0"x8'-0" but have to sell cause the max just wont fit. I have a V6 ford also, so cant go to huge.

That's the picture that first got me interested in the Blue Newt.... It looked monstrous on your trailer.

The Max II with tracks and wheel extensions etc. is around 70+ inches. You need a trailer 6 feet wide and 8 feet long minimum . Not easy to find .

I pull a 7x18 enclosed with the 2007 F-150 with the 4.6 V8, also a 7x16 open Texas Brag trailer. As long as it has trailer brakes to assist in stopping you should be good to go with a 7x10 or 12. If you duck down in the back with the regular suspension get a set of Super Springs and install them.

Now I'm not going to pull the enclosed to California or anything that far but i bought it for the Busco rides which are about 4 hours from home for me and it doubles as a camper. If your truck is automatic get a transmission cooler installed to help keep the temp down on your fluid. If straight drive your good to go. My main concern is you can pull just about anything......but you have to stop it sooner or later. The trailer brakes are a must.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

Not sure what size bed you have on your truck, but a Max II will fit in a standard 8' bed. I've got 3 of them, and that's usually how I get them around. A set of ramps and just drive it up into the bed till the wheelwell is sitting between the 1st and 2nd set of tires. Other guys say to put some wooden pallets in the bottom of the bed to clear the wheelwell altogether. Just throwing it out there as an option.

Measure away. It was sad when mine was just wide enough not to fit my trailer. Want some wiggle room too.
Yes lewis stopping is important. Steering on heavy loads when doing a wheelie gets interesting as well. Dang heavy tractor,l.o.l.

I don't have tracks but have a 4x6 with the floor over tires and its real basic and each tire hangs over about an inch but could make a wider floor. Can pick trailer up by hand and move it around so basically just pulling weight of max. I absolutely love it. Just my .02. Btw it was homemade for about 50$ prolly

I would check your local Craigslist before purchasing the Lowe's trailer. I was able to find a barely used 6x10 with a ramp a few years back for 450.00 . It is a great trailer with a 3500 lb axle and tows the max, lawn tractor and whatever else I can throw at really well.
