Hi all. New to the site and need some help with tires on a Max IV. We are using the aatv for duck hunting in Louisiana and the gumbo mud wants to "ball up" around the tires and body. Currently running 26" goodyears that work great anywhere other than where we hunt. Suggestion please

Welcome to the site Graywalk, where in La are you and where are you hunting, my guess since you are dealing with gumbo would be either the delta(eastern La) or Lafayette areas. The Adair tracks might work, they do great in pudding, which is different than the super sticky gumbo which is known for it's 5lb per step gain. I have heard of the guys around Jonesville/Winnsboro/Simmsport using chains and non aggressive tires. They say the movement of the chains "cuts" the sticky mess loose from the tires as they ride. This might be a cheaper alternative, but those Adair's are one-notch-below-a-hovercraft-bad-to-the-bone. With just tires alone... well you will need to carry something to scrape the glue off every few feet...DESTRUCTION is just a couple of vowels down the street from DISTRACTION

Thanks for the info brushcutter. You are right that we are in the delta region close to Monterey with the very sticky stuff. Burned up one 4 wheeler last year and trying to look for an alternative. Tried the max iv yesterday and broke a chain so needing ideas. If you have picks of the chains it would be much appreciated.

Not sure where Monterey is, but if you are hunting the delta you are definitely in some sticky land. There are several companies who sell atv mud and snow chains did a search and this came up
Atv Tire Chains - Compare Prices, Reviews and Buy at Nextag!
I'm not sure if you will have clearance issues so that is something to keep in mind while you shop. Also check out any atv clubs over in your area and see if any of them run the chains. Adair tracks use umhw plastic and the members who run them say that mud doesn't seem to stick to them as bad, I have no personal experience with them. You might also find someone who runs the Adairs to come and do a demo ride with you where you could see for yourself if they are what you need.DESTRUCTION is just a couple of vowels down the street from DISTRACTION
