  • For all how want inner Bearings on his old Max2

I have to wait for spare parts and so it is nothing to do on my max2
I have a old Max from 1980. He has bronce bushings in his inner axles. Yesterday i have a look on my frame, He is very imprecise. That means, the frame is build like a barn door. I messure with a Laser the corespondence from the inner bushings and the outer bearings. This is awful. The inner bushings are a not aoption for a very good solution of this Problem .

A cheap way is, to use is this bearing from skf

The price for that here in Germany is under 100 Euro for 6 axles. That is the same i have to pay, to buy the bushings in USA. Here in Germany i have to build the bushings self. In this time i can also build the bearings in my Max.

This bearing and the outer original bearing helps to balance onself the axles, when assembly of parts will be well done.

I will make pictures for explain you, what i do. Sorry for my very bad english. It`s hard for me to tell tecnical things in your language.
    kind regards
    Frank

      Frank,

You communicate better in English than many Americans.

Is your frame bent a little bit so that there is not a straight line between the outer bearings and the bronze bushings? If it's just a small bit, the new inner bearings might help to fix the problem. I can't tell from the link you posted, does that bearing have a rounded race so it moves in the flange?

I was googleing YAR 206-2RF and from what I see they appear to have the spherical O.D.

Thanks for providing us with this information. I believe Max IIs didn't use inner bearings on them until sometime around 1997 or 1998. Every year before that they were the stub shaft with the bronze bushing. These part numbers will be helpful for many Max owners looking to do the upgrade. The guys at Buffalo Bearing would be able to get these bearings at a good price for us, I'm sure.

Here in Germany i pay for this bearing with the outer flange 5,60 Euro. For this i can buy a quarter Pizza , ore the barman knocks me the breakfest meal out of my ears, when i give him a tip like this.
Every Day i reed english Websites about ATV`s, my english grooves up. Sometimes i use Google Translater, when i dont understand the text. But most times it comes funny stuff out of this translation.
The Bearing is not shverical, he is static. But the flanges (also the outer a little bit) is shverical and that is good enought for the Barndoor-Frame. You must put any Pease from the axles together. Then you have to fix the good greased inner bearing flange and after that you have to fix the good greased outer bearing flange . at last you fix the bearings on the axles with the exenter ore the two srews. Than is anything fine.

I have forgotten one importent thing.
The 3 Steelaxles in the mittle of the frame must be shortened and build in the frame again. The frame is very soft and need any pease of steel, to be stronger.
              kind regards
