  • Max IV heated throttle cable question

I just installed the heated throttle cable on my 2007 Max IV...The install directions were dated but I think I managed to hook it up correctly. The switch lights up. Here is my question: Should I be able to "feel" the cable heating up? After 5-7 minutes I felt no warmth. I am not sure what temp the heating element goes up to; it certainly doesn't have to be more than 70 degrees or so to melt ice which I probably would not be able to feel through the clear plastic tubing.

Anyone know a way to test to make sure I have it hooked up right? Should the cable be warm/hot to the touch?

If your switch is lighting up you should be good. The IV cable doesn't feel warm to the touch due to its length. The II cable is much shorter and you can feel the heat.
l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!

Also, make sure you spray cable lube down the throttle cable, this will also prevent any moisture from building up in there.

This little tool will help you a lot with that task:
