  • Getting a slight squeak

When I turn right I am getting a slight squeak on one side of the max. What would cause this?

Could be loose or too tight chain, might be a scenario where the chain or bearings needs lube, could also be a bearing starting to fail. I say jack the machine up and start a detailed inspection. It might take awhile for the culprit to be found.

I took a closer look at it today. I do know that I noticed that if I bounce the chain going to the right front wheel it would slap the bottom of the buggy. I did use chain oil on it today and will take some slack out tomorrow because I didn't have my tools with me. I hope this will fix the problem but I am planning to change the bearings out anyway one pair of wheels at a time before the n.c. busco beach run which I am hoping to attend this year.

I had a squeek also when turning but my drive system is very different than your max.
I adjusted my clutch and the squeek is gone......so far.

If your sprockets have set screws make sure they are tight.
