Gas Tank for Max II

I know 6X6World member AmphibiousDrew is selling a like new factory Max II tank with the cap and fuel line fitting, complete and ready to go for $70. He's in Meadville, PA, so it's not super far from you or could be shipped.

Nice looking tank, but it is hidden. If looks aren't too much of a concern could you fab something up using much cheaper materials? I'd be going the DIY route. At least until it leaked everywhere and I gave up and bought a proper tank. But I'm really good at learning lessons the hard way.

rob, I have not tried one of those tanks, but I do not see why it would not work. I think they are kind of spendy though. I would see if someone on here is parting out a maxx & buy a used one much cheaper.
