Every time I take out my Max II their is a pile of brass shaveings from the brass bushings on the front left side. How big of an issue is this ? I plan on re-building the Max in the spring. Is there a need for BRASS or could I replace with somthing elese ?

The brass is so the bushing wears and not the nub it rides on, check your outer bearing may be going.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
    Joe Camel never does that.

Advice is free, it's the application that costs.

No problem but do the bushing also, check them all by lifting up/down on the tire checking for play. Lost a front bearing on one about 12 years ago about 10 miles from camp at Humphey Dice Run at the furthest and steepest part of the trail, not fun going down steep hills with out the left front and a 4 year strapped in the car seat ( think Barney got choked out a bunch of times).
