  • I did it, Proud new owner of a 2002 Max IV.

I finally did it. I am the proud new owner of a Used 2002 MaxIV. It has a trolling motor, Turn signals, winch. The motor has only had mobil one run thru it and the machine looks to be in perfect condition. The only issue with the machine is it shifts a little rough. The owner says there is a spring kit that someone on here sells that eliminates the tough shifting issue. I am getting it shipped from AZ. to Minnesota. The shipping cost is pretty tough to take, almost 800 bucks. But I bit the bullet and hope to see it here by next week sometime. When I learn how to post pics. I will put them on here.
Thanks for all the 6x6 World advice and help.

I just got my first Max a couple months ago after wanting one since I was like ten. They are awesome machines that will never cease to amaze you. Its crazy what you can do with some chains a t20 and a lawn mower engine.

$800 to ship a large machine like a Max IV that long of a distance isn't too bad of a price actually. Glad you finally got one.

          Hey Thanks for all replies
I searched for weeks before finding the one I really wanted. I really got tired of searching, was disappointed quite often by what I found out there. A lot of people want a lot of money for junk! I bet I looked at over 300 to 500 machines on the internet over the last month, some of them repeats. I spoke to about 20 different people on the phone or online before finally settling on the one I wanted. All I can hope for is it is what the pictures say it is and what he says it is. I'm excited as hell and can't wait till it gets here. I do need to do one thing and that is get the spring kit that would help with shifting it easier. I guess there was a post awhile back on installing these springs on the shifter to help it shift better. I will learn to post pics of my machine when I get it here and post some up.

            Congrats Wheeler!
I hope it is everything that you are wanting when it arrives.
The spring-loaded shifter rods do help alot. You can make them yourself or purchase from Richards Relics, but he is rather proud of them for the price he wants.
