  • Left side shaft Adjuster Broke

Not that i am asking why this broke... However,, Should i be looking deeper in the "cause", Was thinkimg to reach in and mig a new adjusting stud to the bracket... but curiosity got the better of us and we removed the shaft and found the bracket just above the "collar" area for the shaft had approx 1" tear in the metal. Not sure if that was the primary cause or the after effect of the stud breaking... three hours of work, 1.27 for the threaded rod, I'm thinking that's cheap for a 6x6 repair !

The damage to adjusters is usually caused by loose drop chains and the plate bolts not being tight enough to take all the force. Keep the vertical chaines quite tight so they can't ride up on lower teeth. Easy fix now you are ready to ride.

Nail on head... I did notice in the removal that the plate bolts could have been tighter and the "quite tight"... on drop chains ??? The manual says 1/2" approx movement... should they be tighter than that ?
