anyone ever fabricate spring loaded chain tensioners ???

Like the type on dirtbike with a nylon block or a roller.my thought is it could be a more consistent yet flexible system.

they have a tensioner for a small motorcycle on ebay for $13.00 i thought that looked very usable i think it was for a honda cr80
