  • Max IV engine swap

After years I finally got an 18hp briggs to replace the Kawi ta 440a that came in the 1985 max..

My question is do I need to lower the engine stand? Any tips for an engine swap?

I don't know how tall either mount measures of the top of my head, but the Kohler and the Briggs look to be the same height. I've never measured any of them though. I will say that I would get a new wiring harness from recreatives or make one yourself. I think the diagram is on here some where. You also need a drive clutch as well as a new spring for the driven. I suggest a red one if your only going with an 18.
l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!

I believe all the engine stands are the same hight. The factory IV wih the Briggs has two washers between mount and engine. Aprox 1/4 inch and stock belt will fit. The factory wiring harness with new ignition switch is nice and necessary if the carb has a fuel solenoid.
