what is the best way to repair stress cracks in a lower tub on a older max II,or where can i find a used one,any help would be great

Is it brittle ABS plastic or the more flexible HDPE plastic?

Your best bet is to replace the tub with a HDPE one. They're out there, and they've been made this way since the mid 70's. The ABS model ones were the very first Max II's........yours must be an early 1970's model. What's the serial number?

its old,had the old kohler 2 stroke.ill have to check the numbers and post them

If it's the Kohler 440 2 stroke twin, then it's a Big Max II. I believe this engine was used with the HDPE poly body Max II's. The ABS machines came with the JLO 297 single.
