  • need help getting right jackshaft out

    Hello, I have an 98 max2. the right jackshaft sprocket welds broke and i'm trying to get it out. I have all disconnected, but can't figure out how to get it out of the frame. is there a trick? any helpfull info please!

      Pull the Battery. There is a round hole just big enough for the jackshaft's "axle" to fit through. It is a PITA to get it aligned, but it will slip right out when you do get it.

          Like buggyman said the pin pulls out where battery is. There is a hole in the outer frame side also that can be used to push the pin inward. I use a small prybar with a hook end wedged between the tub. Once you get the pin to move about 1inch the cotter pin hole will be visible and can be used to pull the pin. The older ones that have 1.25" jackshaft tubes will break the tube and bend the pin. I usually have to cut them with a hacksaw. Yours should have 1.75 tube. Weld both sides of your sprocket if you are able. Hope this all helps out
