I did some trading with a forum member this weekend, and I have to say before I go any further, it was a pleasure to meet and deal with member racerone3. Brian made the trec from N Carolina to my place in upstate NY this weekend to trade a Max II to me, (I'll let him tell you what he got in return, if he wants to). It was a pleasure finally meeting one of the forum members.
So what I have is an 80's vintage Max II. most of the hard work has been done already; frame sandblasted and painted, new bearings, sprockets cleaned up and painted, T-20 freshened up with new bearings, bands and seals. Basically just have to reassemble, and get some tires for it. It should be an easy build. He included an 18 hp Briggs flat twin, what are your guys thoughts on using that motor, I'm leaning towards getting a Vanguard for it instead, just for the smoothness differance. But maybe I'll get it moving with the flat twin for now, change over later....Just what I needed, another project, but you can't have to many, can you?
