chain size

hello,just want to double check with the experts on here,i have a older maxII
broke right rear chain,actually destroyed it,is the chain size # 40? and next question,how much chain do i need to do all axles.thanks

Without seeing a photo or dimensions of the chain, it's impossible to tell. Older max II's did use #40 chain while the newer ones use #50 but you didn't say what year your Max was and even if you did, I'm not sure it would help . Your best bet is just to measure the chain and see what size it is: ANSI STANDARD ROLLER CHAINS
