  • Adusting Belt Tension

Looking for some advice on Drive Belt Tension, Max IV, I think the manual says belt tension is a belt deflection of 1 3/4 of an inch. To adjust (tighten) add spacers under engine mount bolts, right. What do you use as spacers to add? Buy them make them. Also engine has spacers plus a large washer, the BOLT'S are not long enough to add spacers and or washers. So I need new bolt's. How much added tension do I get if I add a 1/4" washer or spacer on my belt?
And could a loose belt cause Max IV lose power (belt slip) up hill?

Add additional washers or replace the existing washer with a thicker one. Just buy a handful and play with them until you get the proper tension.
