  • Lost reverse Max IV

I recently was gifted a 92 max IV (thanks to my wonderful dad, I can go mudding with them all now!) Everything worked just fine, but over the last few rides reverse has been harder and harder to get. Finally last night I was not able to get it in reverse at all. We've checked all the fluids. The one thing my dad noticed is when you go up the road and pull the sticks back to let it free wheel a bit it pulls to the right. Any ideas? (my thoughts tend to be scattered, I'm about as mechanically stupid as you can get) I tried to use the search function for similar posts, but I did not see any concerning this.
    Many thanks in advance.

Going off to one side could be a result of several things. Tire diameter would be my first check. Ensure they are all the same diameter. Next look at chain drag on tensioners, then the t-20 adjustments. As for reverse, it sounds like the pins in your diamond shifters have worn a flat spot. Pull the diamonds out and take a look at the pins.
l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!

Sounds like a plan Drew, I was going to ask if he had a problem getting in reverse or moving in reverse. Though they are connected like you wrote different approaches.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
      Joe Camel never does that.

Advice is free, it's the application that costs.
