waud, have you gave RI a call? Calling RI is quick and easy email response has been slow from them for me in the past. I'm not familiar with a serial # like yours on a Max? Seems to me that you have a very early model? Good luck

Just got off the phone with Recreatives and they said it is a 70 to 71 Machine. Guess I have a vintage Machine.

Yes hang onto it, 1970 was the first marketed production year for the Max. Would like to see a pic or two of your 1970 vintage Max? Have fun with it.

If it's that early think we'd all like to see a few pics, great that the serial number is still intact.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
            Joe Camel never does that.

I'm going to say it's an ABS body machine with the prop cutouts on each rear lower corner of the tub.

Does this thing have a T-20 in it? Noticed the model is Ml maybe JP will tell me that the Ml denotes abs and Mll denotes poly?

Yes it has a T-20, haven't got it running yet. Rebuilding a engine for it. Not the original, when I got it there was a hirth 2 stroke. Working on a rotax 294 right now.

I'm not very sure what the Ml denotes, but this Max is certainly an ABS body machine. A call into Recreatives will provide all the necessary information. Amphibious Six-Wheel Drive All-Terrain Vehicles: MaxATVs - Call 1-800-255-2511 What I can tell you is that on the ID plate is says it was made when Recreatives was on French Road. They were only located there for the first couple years of production and then they moved to Depot Street, where they currently are today.

must have something to do with that, the abs machine I have has no tag but did have prop holes in frame the poly one I'm working on says Mll and has no prop holes, it's 73-74 4703 or 4793.

I'm pretty sure every ABS body Max had the 2 holes in the back of the frame with a small bolt hole on both sides of each larger hole. This was for the dual propeller option that never was made, but had been designed.
