  • T-20 removal video

    Hey
I can't seem to find an area where you can search for a specific video within the videos. I don't want to go thru hundreds of vids to find a specific video. I'm looking for the T-20 transmission video that shows the removal of the trans on a Max IV. Any search help, or direct links would be greatly appreciate.

Use the search to find any topic you are looking for. All of the how-to videos are labeled and tagged so that they will show up in a search. As for all other videos, there are no videos hosted on this site directly so to search through those, you will have to search the host site itself. So go to youtube or vimeo as those are the most popular and search those sites.

Edit: Also, for how-to videos, they are all in our how-to section. There is one for removing the T20 in a Max II but I'm not sure about a Max IV. Basically you remove the belt, throttle and choke cables and electrical connections to the motor. Then remove the four bolts that hold the motor stand to the frame. Pull the motor and stand out as one unit. From there, remove the chain from the T20 along with the shift linkage and laterals. Then take out the four bolts that hold the T20 in and pull it out.

      Thanks Mike
I'll go to the how-to section again and see what I can find.

Didn't you buy a very low hour unit from out west?
What is wrong with your t-20 that you have to remove it?

Not sure of the hours on it. I can't make the assumption that it is low hours. The guy I bought it from thought maybe around 100 hours. And I'm not sure if I need to remove it. I'm still getting used to the machine. I've had a blast on it and taken it thru some pretty tough stuff up North here in Minnesota. The problem that I'm having is that when you try to back up in reverse and your pulling back on both sticks while giving it throttle it doesn't want to really back up especially backing up a hill. I really have to give it ALOT of gas to get it to back up. I can back it up on level ground pretty well with no problem but when I'm on any incline it needs tons of throttle and it still hardly backs up the hill. Hmmmm getting pretty frustrated and thinking there might be a problem with the bands????

Try removing the springs that hold the sticks forward. A lot of people like the "feel" they get when running without the springs. The springs help when in forward, making it so you rarely have to hold pressure forward on the sticks. When in reverse, they require much more pressure to keep the bands from slipping.
