  • New Max 2 dually owner in Florida

Been searching this site for a while now and finally figured I'd post some picutres.
Picked her up about a month ago. Was considering a side by side but when I saw this I knew I had to have it. I havn't seen many people running the 12 wheels. It definitly helps in the water.

    Couple mods I got planned:

    - Install exhaust silencer
    - Install Seat belts (So my 2 yr old son doesn't end up on the floor board when I traverse)
    - Modify sticks to allow for more comfortable two person rides.
    - Roll bar
    - Bed apperatus comparable to a john deere gator bed (just smaller).

What a beast! Welcome to the forum. What size motor do you have in your Max? Man, with that wide of a footprint I don't know that you would EVER use a roll bar.

I remember seeing this machine on Craigslist. Those dual wheels sure are cool! Welcome to the site.

It certainly looks awesome, and I bet it can tackle most anything, but I wonder how long the drivetrain will hold up with that added stress??

            And welcome aboard!

It's got the 23hp Vanguard and man does it haul balls. Torque monster! I'm located in Rockledge just south of Cape Canaveral. Cool thing about these vehicles to me is I used to work on the Marine Corps' Amphibious Assault Vehicles (AAV) and they too were capable of traversing over land and water.

You should feel right at home behind the sticks of that Max then. That 23HP motor is a nice size for a Max II. Have fun with it and take some video sometime so we can see it in action.

Hey Rick, thanks for your location there. I'll be down that way in a few months (I hope). Sure would like to see that fine looking rig if I can!

Hey dozer, how's lower Alabama treatin ya? We've got some pretty good riding spots down here in central Florida. When your down here let me know and we can go out for a ride and/or work on the amphibs!

Oh Lordy-somebody that's been here! The whole LA thing is lost on most people. Folks come to my house expecting to find beaches and Bikinis and find only hills and us rednecks. Florida is a whole lot more rural than most people think. I'll keep you posted on my trip down. I work for the Corps of Engineers doing emergency repair work on flood control facilities and we do work all over the US so I'm gone most of the time. I'm looking for an amphib now but if somebody gave me one I don't know when I'd have time to go and get it. I'll have to soldier on with my old GamaGoat for a while longer I guess. Take care and I'll let you know when I head down.

New 3M Camo Wrap on the Max II

Wrapped the new Max in 3M camo wrap. Kind of difficult at first but after awhile I got the hang of it.

That looks good. I think the painted wheels are a nice touch too.

Thanks man. I used a paint my brother turned me on to called plasti-drip. I have intentions on painting the remainder of the rims but need to pull them off in order to not paint the threads of the lug nut studs.

I've been hearing a lot about the Plasti-Dip coating/paint. It sticks very well, but if you don't like it or want to change the color back to what it originally was you can simply peel it off.
