The frame is out of my MAX IV. Its the perfect time for the split shift modification. Question 1: Is there any reason I should not do this modification. Question 2: Can it cause any harm the T-20 or any other items

I've got mine in pieces all over the ground too, so it sounds like I should do it. How does having the additional control help, other than easier to shift one side then the other? Where should the levers be placed? The same as the single lever, but two side by side?

You will need to anchor your T20 in the frame much more solid than it comes from the factory. Counter rotating will cause the trans to work loose from the factory mounts. This usually happens over time with older Max IVs even without the split shifter.Everybody dies, but not everybody lives.

Do you have any pictures on how to reinforce the rear of the frame? My welder is ready to go to work today!Originally posted by MaxRules View PostYou will need to anchor your T20 in the frame much more solid than it comes from the factory. I would recommend welding the bracket in place. Under load the transmission moves front to back, and without a weld, it would just loosen the bolts. The RI updated brackets are welded in place to avoid working loose. The Transmission look great! The upgraded rod ends and control links look great too! Are you doing a split shift?
