  • grease fittings

getting my newly acquired Max 4 ready for Labor Day riding. Everything seems to be in good shape but I am puzzled by the lack of grease fittings on the interior bearings. It is a '96 model. Did they ever have fittings or are they sealed? Would a drop or two of oil help or just run it as is?

If it's like my 94 the inners are bushings with no provision for lube, I soak'em with chain lube when I spray the chains.

My '94 has inner bearings but also does not have zerks on the inner bearings. The parts view shows it that way as well. Probably they felt that since the interior bearings wouldn't be as exposed to water and dirt as the outers, they didn't need it.

For that reason, when I ordered new bearings, I ordered the inners without the grease hole. Figured that without the ability to add grease, it would just serve as an entry point to stuff I'd rather not be in the grease.
