  • New guy here with some ?'s

Hey, I'm new to the forum and new to 6x6's. I just purchased my first Max IV and have some questions. Looks to be a pretty good forum here. Anyway I have done a search but have come up empty. My model number is 19730 kinda figure it to be around a 2005 or so but not sure yet. I have an Acc. switch and turn it on and it doesn't seem to do anything. Thinking about hooking up extra lights to this switch. Does it run anything or is it just an extra switch? Also, the digital hour meter is flashing "lube". I have no idea what it is needing lubed. Kinda feel dumb, but if y'all can help me out I would appreciate it.

The acc. position ran the headlights, if your newer Max has a separate h/l switch than you could run another set off of it. The lube is a reminder to change the oil though I have no idea how to reset it.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
    Joe Camel never does that.

Advice is free, it's the application that costs.

      Max IV

Thanks for the reply. My headlight switch is part of the ignition switch. I'll probably use the ACC. switch for my new lights. I figured the lube indicater was for the oil but wasnt sure. Thanks again.

CCRanch your Max IV with serial #19730 is a 2005. Lube will flash for 2 hours of use reminding you to lube your chains and sprockets and grease your bearings. Change oil also flashes on mine around every 50 hours reminding oil changes.

          CCRanch,
the ACC switch maybe wired to a throttle cable heater if your's is equipped with that option.
          Mine is wired that way.

That's what the ACC switch if for on my MAX. It should light up only when the switch is on and the ignition is on

right on guys, read the question wrong, the red switch by itself is the heated throttle cable ( if it has one).

                Acc.

Yep it only lights up when it is in the on position. Down here I don't believe I will need a throttle cable heater, so I'll probably hook up my lights to it. Thanks for the replies.

Welcome CCRanch to the 6x6 World. It's alot of fun. The members on this site are awesome and have helped me a lot. I felt stupid when I first started on this site but the members here helped me alot. You'll learn just like we did. By trial and error. Have fun.
