  • Got a lead on a 97' Max IV

My son found this add,,It's a Max IV, 16 hp VanGaurd,,engine seized it say's in the add, "it ran when put in Garage, went to fire recently,,engine seized" no time to fix, they sent more pics, and said it's a 97', looks clean,,pic of the chains and engine, front seat with sticks area,,$2k or BO.

    Whats all your opinions on a 97' Max IV,,looks like the 26" tires,,,not sure.,,,thanks,,,,Mark

what does "went to fire recently" mean

Sounds like it could be a good deal not to sure what "went to fire recently" means but if you do not want that MAX I may want to buy it.
Why do we waste tax money on bridges and roads when we can all just drive AATVs

Think he means "went to fire it up". 97 seems pretty new but then I think man, that is 11 years ago, already.
It seems like a deal to me but I am gullible when it comes to amphibs.

You can buy one of those ready to ride for $2500. You would have to make sure it was a minor engine problem and the rest of the vehicle was good. I usually avoid the 16hp Max IV. It has hollow axles and they break like toothpicks with 26" tires. They are usually run with the 21-22" tires and the Max IV is lame with that set up. 16hp is also very under powered for 26" tires, as I stated in another post about the 18hp. However, any vehicle can be a good deal if bought for the right price.

I've got to concur with Brandon. I believe you could find a better machine that is newer and a better deal for the money. If you want a Mav IV look for the 23 to 25hp machines.

hard to find low cost used AATV up here

I am not too sure how it is in your areas but it is difficult to find reasonably priced older AATVs around me. I have got mine for a good prices but I am looking out for some good deals for friends of mine who want an AATV for under or around $3k. It seems to be in really high demand. I have been offered almost double for my 8x8 then what I put into it and I am tempted to sell but it looks like a replacement would be next to impossible find.
