  • Factory relocation sale/RI open on a Saturday!

I called the good folks at RI today to buy some random parts. Typically I either get the stuff shipped or have a fellow member grab stuff from up there for me due to the fact that they are only open during weekdays. I discovered that RI will be moved from its current location by the end of November. They have no desire to move everything in the factory. As a result, they are currently having a relocation sale. To help accommodate forum members, Matt decided to open the doors for order pickup and sales on Saturday November 23rd from 10:00am-2:00pm, which means I can just go get my parts myself. They have a lot of stuff they are trying to get rid of including blemished uppers AND lowers, white soft tops for Max IV's, and some NOS stuff from the 2nd floor. If you need something for your Max, now is a great time to see if you can get it at a discounted price.
l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!

Hmmmmm. Does this mean you are volunteering to pick stuff up and store it for people? What a good Samaritan you are Drew.

Hhhhmmm This is interesting. I'm inthe market for a few MAXIV parts for my 1995. I'm wonder what amount of discounts they will offer. What does a blem upper and lowers go for? I'm definately interested in a top.... So how do we contact them about parts and prices?

      Thanks.

The phone number is 1-800-255-2511. I would call up there and ask. I'm sure that they can quote you a price over the phone. I don't think Jay would ship bodies, and I am not sure if Matt will do so either. It was not practical to do so because of the size. The only way to get a body may be to show up at the factory and pick it up. Maybe you folks out in Michigan can carpool. It sound like buggyman needs some parts.

Well, Not to burst anyones bubbles on this subject. But I stopped at RI yesterday seeing as I was in the area to see what they had laying around there. But there is not much selection on the uppers and lowers left there. Few greens, few old greens. and maybe dozen or more camos but no blues or old reds or anything like that. Most of the ones that are left are actually to small in size from what I was told but you could make work. Speaking on the max ii's that is. The camo tops have lots of tan in them and are very light colors. Not like the ones that were used in production. And 80% or more have not even been cut out at all so everyone knows. Not trying to discourage anyone from going that saturday but just would like to save someone the trip from far away if they don't even have anything they are looking for. As for upstairs there is a little bit of everything up there but has obviously been dwindling as the years have gone by. Bunch of misc. stuff but not much of one particular thing. the place is just about ready to move as it stands now. Just wanted to clear it all up for everyone. And if your looking to get a top for say $50 it won't happen. they gave me a ballpark of what they were going to ask, I won't post the price on here so I do not step on anybodys toes but I will just say that I will not be buying a upper or lower. Hope this doesn't upset anybody but I know If I lived far away I would have liked to of known before swinging out. Hope everyong has a good day and I wish the best for the max line-up of AATV's

That would make sense. It seems an important reality is not being considered; RI was purchased by Mudd-Ox and is NOT going out of business! Anything useful for the continued production or service of the Max vehicles would have value to that end. I don't think that this should be looked at as a going out of business fire sale simply because they are not!

I intend on making the trip. Plan to arrive at 10 and stay til 2. Looking fwd to seeing the factory and visiting with everyone that attends. I can bring items that will fit in my Camry to Cleveland and store them for anyone looking to get parts via the 6x6 free shipping network although,it will be June 2014 before I attend a group ride. I'm going to call Jay for a left side output shaft for Gizmo's T-20,that's all that I really need at this point. See everyone Sat 11-23-2013.

              Joe.

Hey Joe, don't be too pessimistic about taking something big home on the Camry. I've seen some things done...

I'll see you up there on Saturday at some point.

Knew it was comming before I even clicked the pic. When I got to the "something big home on the Camry" part I knew this was going to be a One and Only moment!

I'm just suggesting that there's a chance we could one-up 'Ol A-man. You have a Camry, there's bound to be a Max IV up there somewhere ("Still want a Max IV"...) and SurferDude already mentioned "beer".

All of the pieces will be in place. Let's do this.

Apparently this is going to be the "must attend" event of the year. Great prices on parts and machines, factory tours, appearances by famous people including hydromike and JoeMeg, and even live entertainment(someone bring some ramps for Joe). Even if you don't buy anything, the show, tour, and overall experience sound like its worth whatever time and gas it costs to get there. Now if we can only get Joe M and his band to show up and provide us with some live music.

If there's enough interest, I will attempt to jump a stack of 10 9 nickels in the RI parking lot with the Swamp Fox.

I'll bring my helmet and cape. Drew; bring the nickels...
