I picked up another maxII a month or so ago. Its a little older than my other one but the engine seems to run good and it shifts fine. The axles are different than my other machines. The serial number is 7436. I believe its a 1985 model year. If i have to rip into this myself i will i put new bearings, chains, made new adjusters or the other maxx but I'm running short on time and would like to get it up and going. It drives now but there is a ton of play in the bearings and axles. And i would like to put a heated cable on throttle (not sure where to even get one). Are there any members who work on these on the "side" for cash. Im in northern ohio and i currently am working on two chrysler sno-runners in the barn (thats not heated) that i know i have a few more weeks into. I get to work on my projects only about 4-5 hours a week this time of year if I'm lucky and then half of that time is spent trying to remember where i left off or how to put back together whatever i had taken apart b If anyone knows of any shade tree maxx mechanics in the area please let me know. I would love to have the machine for ice fishing this year but if i have to do the work i know i wont get to it till the summer. Im not gonna pay a local motorcycle or atv shop towork on it and charge me by the hour on something they have never worked on and are unfamiliar with. I think half the battle with these is knowing what parts you need and where to get them, there really pretty simple machines when you get down to it

Perhaps a western PA member is needing xmas money, Leo's is a good choice also as he is or was a Max dealer and he is in Chardon, not sure if Fischer will work on it or not.sigpic
My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
Joe Camel never does that.
Advice is free, it's the application that costs.

Jim's referring to Fischer Cycle Racing in Ashtabula. They know a couple things about AATVs...

Ive been ice fishing all my life. Grew up on sandusky bay. We fish everywhere around here. Go off catawba or davis besse for walleye when the ice is good. Dont think we have made it out that far in two years though. Im positive we didnt make it on "lake" last year. Did well in the marinas for crappie and bluegill though. I cant wait. I like ice fishing more than fishing off of our boats. Check out iceshanty.com if your not already on there. Used to get a lot of gills in east harbor but they killed off all the weeds and it sucked last year.
