I just bought a max 2, camo with a working 3000 lb winch, bilge pump, roll cage, custom racks, has the 23 hp Kohler engine, doesn't run due to a carb problem, it was halfway running when I bought it three days ago. Good tires, all wiring is completely redone. Has round headlights. I paid 1,000 for it. Did I pay too much? What is this thing worth?

The camo paint and custom metal work detract from the value, but it still looks like you got a good deal.
With a lot of assumptions on the year, condition, etc., $2500 is a pretty good going rate. Just compare it to similar ones like this http://www.6x6world.com/forums/aatvs...-2500-obo.html

Yea soundslikeme I did ok, thanks for the feed back. Now does anyone know what could be wrong with the carb???? It's getting gas from the jets, it has new spark plugs, it will occasionally ecolode and make a loud pop when trying to crank. Will not run on starting fluid. What is the problem?????

What's the serial number first of all? That'll tell you what year and other details are about the machine. Give Recreatives a call and they'll let you know the history of it. Amphibious Six-Wheel Drive All-Terrain Vehicles: MaxATVs - Call 1-800-255-2511
The rear left tire off the bead, all that steel racking, and the spray bomb camo paint job all take value away from the machine. Is the 23HP Kohler a Command V twin model? If so, that helps add to the value if it was swapped in there correctly and not hacked, but if it's a cob job or an old Kohler flat twin (this engine was never an engine that was offered in the Max II model) that brings the value down even more. Try posting your carb issue on the engine section of the site, you'll get more responses there. The best thing you could do is remove all that non factory steel racking, get a couple bottles of this spray on Graffiti Remover and power wash that camo spray bomb paint job off, get the rear left tire on the bead, and get the engine running right and you'll be in good shape and add some value to the machine. As it sits non running with all the stuff that the previous owner did to it, I'd say the $1000 that you paid for it right at, or maybe slightly below the fair market value for this machine. Get it running well, and get it looking like a very clean stock machine and the value easily jumps to $2500.
