  • Max II Winch question

In the next week or so i will be installing a winch onto my Maxll I've seen from various members how they attach with a backing plate, my concern is all that pressure pulling on the body cannot be good right?
Has anyone ever had the body crack because of the winch just being attached to the plastic body.

I'm not sure on the max. But on my argo it is attached to the frame. It looks as if it attached to the body. I'm sure it's the same on the Max.

I use my winch a lot and the guy before me had one too and there aren't any cracks on my body where it pulls. Most of the time you're not pulling that big a load anyway. Usually I've just high centered myself and need a little pull.

I've tied my trailer hitch to trees and winched out trucks. The poor maxII just stretches a bit. Probably not recommend but they are tough. The backing plate ties into the lip on the body and goes across in front of the fuel tank. Be carefully drilling especially if your tank is plastic, I've seen them drilled.
