  • New throttle cable question

I just received my new throttle cable for my Maxll from Ri, and went with the normal non heated one, but I was under the impression that the handle that I had to buy to go with the cable would be different from the one I had on the machine but it's exactly the same.
Any ideas why when I ordered the cable I was told I needed to also purchase the handle because they had changed.

The old handles with the plastic base tended to break very easily, so the new handles have an aluminum base. The cables attach to the aluminum base differently than the plastic base.
My guess is someone had already replaced your handle with the newer style. They assumed you still had the old style, and should have asked.

They probably did ask. Your response must have indicated that you had an older handle. My guess is it was a mix up in communication on old vs new or aluminum vs plastic.

My max 2 1994 had the all plastic handle, the cable broke so I ordered handle and cable from Midwest atv and I got the same one you did$70 seemed fair. I'm gonna see if I can get some replacement paddles, I can see me breaking these. The guy at Midwest atv was really nice and friendly. Norm

I find the plastic throttle levers get broken when the cable is adjusted to tight and the lever dosent stop at the stick but is stopped by the cable. The bottom of the lever breaks out where the tee end snaps in.
