I brought my Max IV the first time ice fishing and of course my choke froze up. I will have to take it off dried out and put some lube to it. I was thinking of putting a 12 volt heater on the floor in the front. What do you all think? What have you done to your max IV to help with winter. I was also thinking of making a larger Dog sled to pull behind it or even a trailer out of wood what do you think? have any photos?

I moved my choke cable down and left (under and inside body panel) no water can get inside now. It is hidden but it never freezes. I also go to great lengths to keep any moisture out of the throttle cable, even thought it is heated.
I always put a bag over the handle lateral so the water does not get in there. It is a poor design as the water gets funneled into the cable. I would like to come up with a fool proof throttle setup that never freezes or needs a heater.
You will need tracks. I dont have any yet, but getting them soon. There are some posts on here about heating in the cab. Dont know if that 12 volt will put out enough even if you had extra alternator capacity.
I use a Fish Trap II clam type portable shack with a cover and pull it behind the machine.

I picked up a rubber bag from an army surplus store to cover my throttle handle this seems to work quite well I also added a windshield and a hardtop made out of a truck bed liner my cab is heated using a bilde fan from a boat. The heat comes from the engine. I run a 63 amp alternator from an old Chevy truck it works very wellI have had no problems with frozen cables and I do a lot of ice fishing. I hate to get stuck out on the ice will a frozen cable.

I had it out on the Ice last year and it worked grate. We jest had a wet cold snow hear in Maine and my cabals froze up. I pulled them and put the cabal lube to them. I picked up a old Jigger 6X6 with no engine wheels, so that's getting skies hooked to the old axels. I am going to put the bag over the handles even with the top on it.
