  • Chains help!

    Hey everyone I just replaced the two rear axles and sprockets first time ever doing this. Running into issues please help me with chain issues on primary drive ... what lengt are they supposed to be ?
    Left side is really tight and right side fits good .... please any help ..... give me a call 865-242-1718 John. ... Thank you.

    What kind of Max 6x6 do you have? If you use the search, you should be able to find a few threads that give you the number of links in the chain.

      Hey mike I have a max IV I have alot of questions chain length and the axles they sent me with the double sprocket ... the sprockets didn't have a set screw. But I was reading something about clips on the axles .. not sure .... I just need some advice ...

        Actually I think they called them snaprings ... I am not sure if that's what I was sent or if it is something different.

          The snap rings hold the sprockets in place on all the newer Max IVs. Much better than the set screws. You will have 52 links in your primary chains. The bearing flange bolt holes have quite a bit of movement during assembly and this can change the tension of your chains.
