  • max 2 snow depth without tracks

well I plan on taking my max 2 that has a scrambler body out on lake st clair this weekend,I have new at101 tires on it.I want to take my kids on the lake for the first time on the 6x6-will I be ok without tracks?I have read other posts that say 6 " is the maximun snow depth without tracks.I took a walk out on the lake and I noticed the three wheelers and 4 wheelers had chains on their rear tires.Am I just asking to get stuck?I appreciate any comments or recomondations.

Dont worry about lake st clair. Most of the powder blows away and the other is hard packed or frosted. I'm going to try and head out there myself this weekend. PM me and maybe we can meet up. Actually depending on when the snow flies shortly we might ride down to the lake. I'm only about mile away.

ok,thanks.I will be entering the lake at the cotton road and jefferson area, yes I am curious to see if we get the 3 to 6 inches of snow tonight. My 9 year old daughter does not like the 6x6 because of 1 episode last summer when I got stuck driving over a large tree limb,it scared her and she no longer has any confidence in me.I am hoping to regain her trust and get her to start riding again but if I get stuck on the lake I know it will be a bad experience for her.

Make sure you take a shovel with you. If there is slush , it can get you stuck real easy. Have fun, and let her drive :-)

Ive never got stuck out there but fell through in some slushy spots. Always pays to go with another machine.
