  • Just got off the trails...

Hello, just joined a week ago but have been a max2 owner for 5-6 years. Live in Florida and just got off the Apalachicola national forest trails. All day ride with quads, bikes and side-by-sides. The posted pic was by a nice spring fed pond and made a nice swim-and some jealousy...more pics to come.

Is it legal to ride in this national forest? We have nothing like that in NY.

So,on Sunday's ride I had my machine spitting and sputtering on the way back, approx. 10 miles. My carb has been rebuilt twice in the past two months so I ventured into the rest of the fueling system...all new fuel lines from tank to pump-pump to carb and the vacuum line and fuel filter, removed tank and cleaned, new spark plugs, new fuel pump and new air filter. I gotta say, my machine is running like a Cadillac!! No choke to start her up, quick throttle response and more power from the kohler 23. I cannot wait to send you guys pics of this weekends ride!

Forgot to mention that with the new fuel pump I could literally see the air bubbles/fuel flowing thru the clear filter like a banshee as it was priming . My machine is an 2004, so I would say that a new fuel pump is a decent power adder for anyone with a few years on their machine...

Heres a few more pics I just took. Went out for a quick swim around the pond to ensure my tuneup was a success.

Milkman was there this big yellow thing in the sky that was really bright and warm? Did it look like something they call the SUN?
Come to Minnesota and bring that nice yellow warm thingy with ya!

haha, it was in the upper 50s today when I took those pics...long sleeve shirt and I was comfortable-just to rub it in. How do the machines do in that cold of weather?? That's brutal!

Also, I've been noticing water in the tub after I swim. Today I put water in the tub to check for leaks and noticed water leaking out around the axles. I'm assuming I can remove the tires and tighten the axle flange bolts to correct this? Should I caulk or silicon behind the flange before tightening to waterproof? What's you guys ideas or experience here, thanks
