  • chain for a 93 maxll.

Having a hard time finding chain for my maxll. What I have from 6x6 is #50-2rh roller chain. 50r in 10' lengths. Is this correct? If so, where can I get it. Anyone here have 40' for sale? I have called a few suppliers. Was told my # were wrong or I had to buy 150' at a time. Any help would be appreciated.

My understanding is that #50 is an industrial chain type and #530 motorcycle chain is what people here are typically using. The two are the same size. If you search for chain in the topics here you will find enough to keep you in front of the computer instead of driving your machine for the next 2 months at least.

Well that explains it. I should be looking for #530 motorcycle chain. Thanks for the reply. Should make life a bit easier!

DO NOT use the 530 O-ring chain. That is what people are using on MaxIV's. On the MaxII's there is not enough clearance, and the factory went to #520 instead....So, #50 is what you want. The reason you can't use the #520 is because it takes a thinner sprocket.

All four axle to axle chains are 102 pins (aka links). The t-20 to jackshaft chains are 46 pins each. This is around 26 feet total of #50 chain.
You also have 2 chains from the jackshaft to the center axle that are #60 chain, they are 34 links each. That takes 51"

Your rear chains should wear at the same rate as the fronts....consider replacing them all.

Thanks for the info buggyman1. This will help a great deal. Phabib, please don't sweat it. I was not going to buy chain till it warmed up anyway! Northern N.Y. is still cold and expecting four more inches of snow tomorrow night. I'm thinking next month or so. Should be warmer then!

Buggyman1, would a 2005 MaxII use the same length and sizes of chains that you recommended for the 94?
