  • Throttle Extension Modification

Here are a few pictures of a throttle extension mod that I did to our Max IV. I used a piece of 1.5 inch black ABS tubing. I cut it out to the general shape that I wanted and sanded the edges to smooth it up. It fits nicely. My first effort was too short and I made the next one longer.

Thank you to the people of 6x6 world for giving me the idea.

Very nice job!! I will be doing the same on my IV as well.
Famous last words: I swear honey... I am just going to change the tranny fluid. I won't tear this one apart...

you may want to put the extension on the outside of the existing lever as you may loose full throttle the way you have it. normally there is not much extra cable slack with the original design after the throttle handle is pulled tight. otherwise I like the concept of the longer handle. The bike brake handles work but again have less throttle cable pull than the original.

It crossed my mind to put it on the outside but I did it this way to put the extension closer simply because I have small hands. I'm not bothered by a loss of top speed. (I've not been past half yet). Comfort is my priority. Thank you for the suggestion. I do apreciate the feedback.
