I just bought a Max II for $200. Lower tub is in good condition but everything inside is rusted besides the transmission and engine. The engine is a 440 snowmobile engine and the idiot who installed it mounted the exhaust through the lower tub just about the back left tire. I think that It needs new bearings, new axles, new sprockets, new chains, need to sand blast and powder coat the frame, needs 6 new wheels, needs new upper body because it is falling apart and cracked all over, and needs a different engine because I think that the snowmobile engine is very likely to overheat. All the controls are rusted to crap as well. What does everyone think I should do? I've thought about selling transmission and engine and scraping the rest besides lower tub, axles, and bearings. Then I'd put in an aluminum floor and seal it up and it'd make a real nice trailer for my Max IV. Anyone think I should try and rebuild at this point?

Could you post some pics of it? You could get used parts from forum members and possibly do a cheap build over time, but it might be better to find a machine that's for sale in better condition that doesn't need as much work if you really want to have another AATV and start adding to your fleet."Looks like you have a problem with your 4 wheeler........you're missin' two wheels there"
