Has anyone ever removed the front drive chains on a max iv 950t when running tracks. A friend of mine owns a max II and was told by a service person at recreatives he would have better power with less stress on the front sprockets, chains and axles. After doing so he said the difference was amazing it was like taking off the emergency brake on a car.

that would make sense, most track trives only power one wheel, the rest act as bogey's or idlers.......

    Good thought, I'd think.

Recreative used to build one like this the traxmax and it didn't have drive to the front axles.

When I bought my IV, it had the factory tracks on it and the front chains were off it (though I have them). I have the installation manual for the tracks, but is does not mention removing the chains. Looks like they figured it out later on.

Thanks for the replies. Next winter I will try going without the front chains.
