I am happy to be able to contribute something... My 2004 IV with the 25hp Kohler came with RI Belt Marked Dayco 018039. Dayco's site's had a cross reference for the belt HP 3029 as an exact fit for replacing 018039. Was around $50 but I think it you look you can get it for under $40
I also learned that getting the old belt off and new one on kind of sucked. Out of luck and desperation, I used a long stick with a square end but rounded edged (so not to damage the belt) and used it as a guide for the new belt. It's tough to describe exactly but I got the top on first, then got the part of the bottom on facing the rear and stuck the stick in from the back at about a 45* angle to the the bottom of the belt. First to help push some of the belt on but then I jammed it between the part that was on the pulley and the part that wasn't sort of how a tire changer works, and I was shocked to see it actually worked! Never loosed the engine and it seems a little bit tight but before I loosen anything I want to break it in for a few hours.
