Maybe. I would say out of everything else that was definitely the biggest issue. I tried to unbolt the front seat thinking that would really help and I got the 4 bolts done only to realize there were 2 more through the tub, ugh. I was afraid their gaskets might not make it so I just left it, that definitely made it harder.

Good news my Max IV has taken to the sea again! Almost

Well I am not sure when she was seaworthy since I only recently bought her. But after a very tough bearing change it looks like that was the ticket to my massive leaks. Both bearings were shot and the others seem completely dry.

The bad news: When I did my first one, I assumed the bearing was pre-greased and I dont think it was. The second one I manually filled with grease before use and that was dry as could be. But the first one that I only greased after installation still leaked, though not nearly as much.

I would say after being on the water for 40 minutes I maybe leaked a pint or so of water. Where before after 5 minutes I leaked about a gallon or two! Not so good.

I was still ver nervous and getting used to everything. I plan to install a minn kota and once I am sure I Have two means of propulsion I will feel better about being out there.

I plan to take her out again tomorrow and give it another run. I see what people mean about the IV seeming very unstable but once you get used to it, things get better. I think it feels worse than it is, since it seemed very stable.

I love the fact I drive right up the boat ramp and am on the trailer and leaving within 5 minutes, not exactly like a boat.

I added some more grease to the troublesome bearing and I will see tomorrow if that helps.

I took some vidoes. We definitely need more videos of these out on the water there seem to be less than 10 water videos of max's on yourtube, hopefully I can change that.

My plans for buying the machine is to use it as a small boat to tool around a couple of fantastic shallow ponds less than 5 minuets from my house, some dirt runs here and there but then hopefully to use it in the winter also.

Hopefully I keep some good luck going here!

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
        Joe Camel never does that.
