I think I measured it correct, is it 1 5/8th? I am interested in adding a safari basket to the top possibly and wanted to see what might be out there for brackets
I'm a bit curious... What does a factory roll cage weigh?
Would 1.25 inch diameter schedule 40 tube be less weight yet be strong enough?
My Max IV doesn't have a roll cage and my nephew can weld up one for me once I get the
tubes. I'd like it to be light but strong enough. Thanks.
Edit: would 1.5 be more prudent?
Use 1 3/4 inch by .095 wall thickness tube. It's light weight and the more bends the stronger it is. I built mine out of this it's the same stuff we built roll cages from back in my stock car days. Just get electric welded tube as chromoly is way too expensive for what were doing.
What it lacks in ground clearance it makes up for with traction.
