    more leg room !

    OK, I'm new to this sight and to the 6x6 world and I have been surfing this sight for several days hoping to find info on moving the front seat of my Max IV back a tad. I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds the front seat rather cramped up to the dash. Has anyone any tips, do's & dont's they would like to share. Thanks

    look in the threads for the front seat mode that a lot of members do to make it either a single seat of a 3 seater

      My Max IV front seat can move about three inches closer or backwards due to extra mounting holes for the base bolts to go in. Perhaps check if yours?
      You may be able to slide your seat back and drill new holes for new bolts ( the originals are welded on). Keep in mind that moving the front seat back impeds into the rear seat area.
      Stand for the Flag. Kneel for the Cross.

        The stock seat can be moved 1 3/4" by drilling 4 holes in the mount. If you have seat belts move the belt mount and plug old hole with short bolt and washer. The rear floor has to be notched but the lines are molded into the floor.

          A Max4 seat takes about 5 minutes to pull out, reposition, and drill new bolt holes for. If you don't have much experience with power tools, take a piece of flat stock metal or a piece of 1/4" plywood and lay it on parallel to the drill point so you don't accidentally cut thru the plastic on the hull.

          I couldn't squeeze my 6'4" self into a Max4 without this mod.

              I moved mine back 3" all I did was take out the seat lay out new holes 3" back drilled them installed bolts with nuts and tightened them down to the frame put washers on top the nuts put the seat back in more washers on top the seat frame then lock nuts to hold the seat down It works great hope this helps

                Well I went ahead and did mine this afternoon after work. Removed the seat, re-drilled the mounting holes and moved the seat back 6". Took about 2hrs., now I have better control and a much more comfortable ride. Thanks all, Craig
