I have an opportunity to trade for either a Big Max or an 80s Max II with a 14 hp Briggs. I am needing a machine for my small farm. Lots of hills and woods. I'll be playing with it, but also working it. Any suggestions? Thanks!! You guys rock.

I agree the 14hp can be upgraded to a 16 with a different carb. It's not a bad machine for all purpose stuff.

Well, sounds like the 14 hp is off the table now. Dude has it for sale on CL for $3500 and on ebay for $2500. I asked him, via CL, what would be the bottom dollar. He said $2800 and a rifle or shotgun. Ha!

$3500 for an old max 2 with 14hp(needs to put the pipe away) you will find a much better machine for that money. Don't jump on the first one you see, check it over well, and patience pays off..... Norm
