  • max 2 engine removal

hey friends, about time to change rear chain tensioners and rear left inner bearing.seems easiest to remove engine, especially for getting to left side. is it best to unbolt engine from the cross mounts, or unbolt those mounts from the frame. even with my skinny fingers i could'nt see how to get the bolts back unless i tack welded them from underneath. any input or experience is appreciated. johnboy va.

thanks mike , it looks pretty straightforward. i guess when it's time to drop motor back in, the rubber mounts will hold the bolts in place. otherwise i can't see how you would get the bolts back in once the motors in place. thanks johnboy va.

When I removed my briggs to change the starter, I got my son, quite small at the time, to do the tight work! He could get his hands in where I couldn't. If there are any kids in the area, flip them a few bucks. I find that most kids are happy to help.

thanks tattooman, that's a great idea. even my thin fingers won't fit in there. thought about maybe using some ''goop'' to hold the bolts on a bent piece of wire or flatbar. i will definately get it. johnboy va.

I used a piece of wire off a long twisty tie raped around threads and pulled the bolt up then wedged presure to start nut
