I am looking at 1998 max 2 with 14 HP Briggs motor,asking $2900? Is that a fair price? Looking to put tracks on it for mountain cabin access here In Colorado? Opinions?

The value is not bad if it is turn key, however, the engine it has probably won't be that good with tracks. I would personally look for a IV with tracks and a bigger engine. $5000 seems to be the Magic number with a turn key tracked IV with pinned axles. If you buy the II and spend another $1200 on an engine and then another $2000 on tracks you could have got something already set up for less money.
