    Ideas on chains for my max iv

    Since i've been rebuilding my 2007 Max IV i'm looking a replacing all of the chain. In my searches i've come up with one that strikes my fancy and want some opinions on using it from others hear. Manufacturer of Power Transmission, Motion Control, and Chain Products - Wheeling, Illinois there are a few options that they carry that look promising and the life expectancy im seeing, i think is worth the extra cost.

    I've researched the topic of lube free chains as well. Bottom line is that all chains need lubricant. Similar lube free designs just use silicone immersion, then dry the chain off. It makes for a longer wearing product without lube. The only problem is that the silicone coating wears thin quickly and then you are back to lubing the chains as always.
    I don't know that its been tried on an aatv. I know in industrial applications its a popular chain type to use.

      How many links are required for a 2007 max iv in?

        MFG Supply has 530 oring chain with around 8500 tensile strength that is very reasonably priced, that's where I get all of my chain and it lasts.... Norm

          They also have O-ring chain in the same strength as the Tsubaki Omega chain, which is 9,700 pounds tensile strength.

            I paid $291.19 to mfg supply for all my chains that is the 8500# tensil strength you need about 600 links total to replace every chain I also bought matched sets that were pre cut to the 116-122 links lastly I ordered 104 links and broke them into 52 links ea.

              O/Ring is the Best way to go ! I also use a chain spray called White Lightning made by BG. It foams on and Sticks Very well And down,t was off fast.

                I had some white lightning at a party a couple of weeks ago. Maybe I should have poured it on the chains.

                    I was mistaken my chain is 9700 tensile from MFG, 120 links cost $58.80. Well worth It.... Norm
