Richards Relics
Hi Guys Has anyone purchased the external max-2 muffler system from Richards Relics? And if so how did go in mounting it and installing it on your machine? I'm looking into replacing my ole worn out one on my 95 max-2. Any help would be great. Thanks Big000X0016tU_ (2).jpgfoot465

Do you need a replacement muffler, or the whole exhaust system? -
The whole system manifold,tube and muffler. Mine is pretty worn out.Comment

The mufflers are generic, and if you do a search here on the site you can find a part # for NAPA.
The manifold is also generic, but I think the flexy attachment (one piece w/manifold) is special. It is also very difficult to save/reuse the fiber gaskets/seals at the tub.
I went to the internal style for extra tire clearance. I'll check to see if I still have the old manifold.Comment

If you do a search on Ebay you will find lots of different styles Briggs Stratton 691502 Exhaust Manifold Replaces 805404 | eBay Be careful what way they mount. You will also need some type of flexible pipe between the manifold and where it exits the tub to allow for motor movement when tensioning the belt.Comment

Hi Buggyman - Thanks for the help. I was able to order that muffler from my local napa store and it only took one day and it was there at the store for pickup. I see that Richards Relics is high priced now. I only had to order my manifold from Richards Relics. I did find the exhaust pipe of the right size on ebay at a very low price of $3.50 a foot compared to Richards of $15.00 a foot for the exhaust pipe. Wow he's high. Nice having buds that can help you find parts when your looking for them. Have fun in the snow this christmas. I know I sure will if we see any sleet or snow or both lol. Have a good one.
