I need to build a custom frame rail to finish off my track setup. I'm using Max II bearing cages on a Max IV. The outer part of the cage has three bolt holes instead of four. The factory frame rail won't work for me. Any ideas what I can do?

If you have the IV outer rails and cages have 72 mm bearings two bolt holes should line up use a flange to mark and drill holes needed. I purchase 3 bolt flanges and drill the four bolt pattern all the time. You could also drill the four bolt pattern in outer cages. I have made upper and lower rails with angle iron insted of one piece. I believe I used 1 1/4" x 1/8 and faced the lip to the body for more tire clearance.

I had them on order, but noticed that the C channel rail is too narrow to accommodate the upper bolt of the 3 bolt flange. It looked like I'd have to drill a hole through the edge of the lip of the C channel. It at least looked that way studying the pics of the rails on the Max6x6 website. I could have drilled a four bolt pattern on the cages, but the grease fitting notch on the cage would have been too close or would possibly over lap one of the new bolt holes.
I like the idea of using angle iron. Do you think I can get away with just using a single piece along the bottom section of the cages or should I do top and bottom? I don't want to get too heavy. Would using aluminum 1/8" angle be a good option?
