  • What size chains?

Hello everyone. I have a 1996 Max II with a Serial number of 13404. I would like to know what is the proper size roller chain to replace all the chains? Also, what is a good chain to replace them with? Thank you.

The bulk of the chains will be #50, the half shafts should be #60. I would buy Diamond brand, Tsubaki, or some other high strength brand. Don't buy the cheap chain though because you will quickly regret it. Good quality #50 should have a tensile strength of 6500 lbs or higher, #60 should be 8000 lbs or higher. If you splurge anywhere on the machine, do so on the chains.

If you aren't in a hurry, you can often find the good stuff on EBAY or Amazon for next to nothing.

Hi... www.mfgsupply.com sells O-ring chain that equals the tensile strength of Tsubaki but ay half the price.
Check under the "motorcycle" section for drive chain.
